Courtney Gum
Physiotherapist | Practice Principal

Courtney has 18 years experience after graduating from UniSA in 2003. Over this time she has developed in depth knowledge of musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy.
Courtney enjoys all areas of Physio, however has a keen interest in sporting injuries and management. She loves both 1:1 management as well as undertaking supervised rehab with her clients. Courtney likes to get people back to where they want to be whilst make them feel strong and robust.
Courtney played AFLW from 2018 – 2020. She represented GWS Giants (18/19) and Adelaide Crows (2020). She was awarded the AFLPA MVP as well as coming 2nd in the AFLW Best & Fairest awards and making the All Australian Team.
Alex Shaw

Alex is a passionate physiotherapist who has a special interest in sports physiotherapy as well as general musculoskeletal injuries and impairment.
He utilises hands on manual therapy and exercise prescription to provide a holistic approach to his practice.
Away from the clinic Alex is a keen athlete with experience playing football at SANFL level with both South Adelaide and Glenelg.
Emma Swift

Emma Swift is a Physiotherapist who graduated from the University of Sydney in 2007. She has a wide range of experience including sports injury rehabilitation, post operative care, hydrotherapy and dry needling.
Emma enjoys working with her clients to achieve the best possible results, striving for an efficient recovery and preventing re-injury. Her focus is on empowering those she treats through education and exercise while offering a holistic approach.
When Emma is not at work her interests are running, triathlon/ duathlon and she likes to unwind with Stand Up Paddle boarding. She has previously played competitive Netball, Basketball, Soccer and Softball, and has trained in ballet, jazz, hip-hop and Latin dancing.
Trent Larwood
Exercise Scientist

Trent is an ESSA accredited Exercise Scientist (AES) who has recently completed his Bachelor of Exercise Science (Sports Science) at Flinders University in 2019. He is Currently studying his master’s in Clinical Exercise Physiology at Flinders University.
Trent is a big believer in the use of exercise to promote a healthy lifestyle, improve sporting performance, delay the onset of ageing and improve overall quality of life.
As well as working at Kinetic Balance Trent has recently taken of the role of Strength and Conditioning Coach for South Adelaide’s SANFLW team where he oversees gym programs, GPS analysis and conditioning programs.
Chris Bennett
Massage Therapist

Chris has been a remedial massage therapist since 2006 before that he worked as a farmer in Booleroo Centre situated 280 kms north of Adelaide!
Chris utilises massage to help people manage their health and wellbeing. He provides a combination of deep tissue massage and remedial massage.
Chris has a big involvement in AFLW. He was an assistant coach with South Adelaide Football Club Senior Women’s Team from 2018-2020. He is also currently the head coach of the Happy Valley Women’s A grade team.

Pauline Gum
Practice Manager
Pauline has been the Practice Manager at Kinetic Balance since 2019. She keeps everything organised and on track.
Pauline has had a wealth of knowledge and experience that she has gained throughout her working career in the South Australian Education Department. Pauline spent 25 years in various operational and management roles within DECS.
Pauline is married and lives with her husband Garry on their farm on the Fleurieu Peninsula.
